Working with Us
St. Mary Medical Center
St. Mary Medical Center opened in 1973, built on land once owned by an early Hobart settler. That same pioneering spirit continues as the hospital reaches out to meet the needs of a growing suburban population in Lake and Porter counties. Recently, the hospital completed construction of a new, 55,000 square foot outpatient center in Valparaiso. Our Valparaiso Health Center offers unparalleled quality and service under one roof for residents of Porter and LaPorte counties.
New ideas have helped transform St. Mary Medical Center, particularly with programs and services that surpass national standards and set trends for best practices. Our innovative Quality Care Coordination program links hospital patients with their own personal Quality Care Navigators - nurses specially trained to follow patients through their hospitalization and beyond - providing a single point of contact throughout their entire course of care. And St. Mary Medical Center continues to surpass the standards for quality care. Our Joint Academy has received Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for knee and hip replacements as well as earning designation as a center of Blue Distinction by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. We also continue to excel in the areas of cardiology, neurology and stroke care, oncology, women’s health and diagnostic services, bariatric medicine, emergency care, birthing center, rehabilitation and outpatient surgery. Many of our services and outstanding clinical staff can be found at one of several outpatient locations across Lake and Porter counties.
