Oncology, Community Hospital

Before I even finished school, I was encouraged to come and work at Community Hospital by our Human Resources Director, Mike Graham. My mother also worked here as a medical-surgical nurse.

I am a R.N. and have been an Oncology nurse since coming to Community Hospital more than three years ago. I enjoy working at Community for many reasons. My co-workers are also my friends. We support each other throughout our usually hectic shift, as well as in our personal lives. Having friends at work makes it easier to get up and go every day.

Plus, none of the places I worked before had the type of benefits that Community offers. Paid vacations and paid time off are a luxury that I have never had before; it makes me very happy!

For this reason, I've recommended Community Healthcare System as a good place to work to many people. I've told them about the career opportunities available at Community. A friend from school applied for a CNA position and got the job. I have had family members apply to various job positions and are still waiting to hear from the hospital.

Community Healthcare System has provided me with a lucrative career, in a stimulating environment, where I feel challenged on a daily basis. I especially love my patients, and the Oncology department is an especially perfect fit for me. Many of our patients have a longer stay, so I have a chance to really get to know them and their families - something I enjoy very much.
