Breast Cancer Care
Community Cancer Research Foundation, 926 Ridge Road, Munster
The Community Cancer Research Foundation sponsors research trials at the three hospitals of the Community Healthcare System. The not-for-profit foundation was established to bring the latest advances in cancer research to local patients so they don't have to leave the community. Breast cancer research has been a major focus of these efforts with participation in the largest national breast cancer prevention trial that led to new treatment options for women at risk; and the enrollment of area patients in a trial found to improve survival for women with Her2 positive breast cancer. The foundation has clinical trials available for treatment for every stage of breast cancer, from Ductal Carcinoma In Situ or DCIS (considered a Stage 0 Breast Cancer) to advanced disease. For information on breast cancer trials currently available contact the Community Cancer Research Foundation at 219-836-6875.
