The hospitals of Community Healthcare System offer many free and low-cost educational programs, screenings and support to help people live healthier, manage a chronic disease or recover from a serious illness.

3/11/2015 - Heart Health Symposium 2015-Beat your Atrial Fibrillation
Join us for our annual Heart Health Symposium Symposium.
Atrial fibrillation is an irregular heartbeat that increases the risk of stroke and heart disease. Signs may include dizziness, weakness, and low energy. Treatment involves medication and lifestyle changes, and sometimes medical procedures such cardioversion, ablation or pacemakers.
Electrophysiolgist, Parthiv Shah, MD, on staff at the hospitals of Community Healthcare System, will discuss the various medical treatments and procedures used to treat atrial fibrillation.
Sarah Colias, RN, specializes in cardiovascular rehabilitation and will discuss how risk factors for heart disease contribute to atrial fibrillation. Sarah will also share how exercise and lifestyle changes can reduce the risk of heart disease or slow its progression.
Light refreshments will be served.
