2/17/2014 - Weight-Loss Surgery: Is it Right for Me?
General and bariatric surgeons, Paul Stanish, M.D., Medical Director of the Healthy 4 Life Center at St. Mary Medical Center and Community Hospital, and Hung Dang, D.O., discuss new options and treatments for obesity and related health issues. Learn about the most comprehensive program for medical, surgical and lifestyle weight loss solutions from Northwest Indiana’s leading team of bariatric professionals.
Using a team approach to achieving weight loss, Bariatric Surgeons, Dr’s. Paul Stanish and Hung Dang discuss the etiology of obesity, its effect on an individual’s physical, emotional and psychological health, and how surgical weight loss can help increase an individual’s ability to move, improve self-esteem and, most importantly, extend their life. The goal is to help reverse or significantly improve the medical complications of life-threatening obesity-including diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, infertility, and depression. Surgical weight loss options and a brief description of each are discussed along with risk and benefits. In addition, participants have the opportunity to hear firsthand from patients about their personal surgical and post-operative experiences with procedures.
