This 6 week consecutive class offers expectant parents an opportunity to explore the many aspects of childbirth. A certified childbirth educator will help you navigate through the stages of labor, delivery, post-partum and newborn care. Methods for managing labor from Lamaze to the use of pain medications and epidurals will be presented to help you choose which options will work best for you.
Your partner or support person is encouraged to attend with you. This class is FREE to anyone delivering at St. Marys, for all others the cost is $60.00.

A three-day course for those who have previously attended childbirth classes. Women considering a vaginal birth after Cesarean will also benefit. Sign up by fourth month of pregnancy. Preparation for labor, delivery, recovery and post partum is the focus of this course. Relaxation skills including breathing techniques are reviewed. Clients’ needs for both medicated or non- medicated birth options are addressed. Classes are lead by a Registered Nurse who is a Lamaze International Certified Childbirth Educator.

Doula, the Greek word for "mothering the mother" refers to woman who provides continuous non-medical emotional and physical support during childbirth. Her skills include relaxation and breathing techniques, positioning to reduce pain, massage and enhanced labor progress. With the help of a doula, early mother-infant relationships and breastfeeding are enhanced.
Our program is seeking volunteers who are able to give one day a month to provide support to women during labor and delivery. Program requires attendance at a series of childbirth classes followed by completion of an eight-hour workshop. Workshop dates are determined after childbirth class requirements are met.
