Location: Willowcreek Health Center, 3170 Willowcreek Road, Portage, IN
PAD is a progressive narrowing of the arteries feeding the legs, causing pain and circulation problems. Involves a blood pressure reading in the arm and ankle. This simple screening screens for blockage in leg arteries.
Blood pressure readings will be taken in the arms and ankles to screen for peripheral arterial disease. The readings will determine the participant’s ankle brachial index (ABI). Participants will be asked to remove shoes and socks, wear clothing to accommodate this.
Thirty minutes before screening, please do not eat, drink any caffeinated beverages or alcohol, participate in heavy physical activity, or smoke.

Determines your risk for heart disease and other related medical conditions. Screening includes: Metabolic Syndrome assessment (waist measurement, blood pressure, cholesterol (total, HDL, LDL, Trig), blood sugar). Also includes a body mass index and lifestyle questionnaire.
PLEASE NOTE: 10-12 hour fasting is required.
The screening is held in the Outpatient Service area on the first floor at Community Hospital. Please use the Outpatient Admitting entrance that faces Columbia Avenue. It is labeled entrance "B". Immediately turn to the left and follow the carpeted hallway directly into the Outpatient Services area. There is an overhead sign above the entrance to that waiting area. It reads…Outpatient Services (Laboratory, EKG, X-ray).

However, if you have never been tested for osteoporosis, it can give information about your risk and also help determine if you need the central bone density test of your hip and spine. ***FOR WOMEN ONLY
