Transcription coursework including completion of a certified medical terminology course, word processing and dictating equipment experience is required. At least one year of medical transcription experience in a hospital setting transcribing the four basic report types is preferred. A broad knowledge of surgical and pharmaceutical terminology is helpful. A typing speed of 60 wpm required. Strong proofreading, editing, grammar and spelling skills, the ability to use reference books, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Laboratory - Microbiology
