Education is an essential part of the care offered by The Family Birthing Center. A variety of classes are available to help new mothers and families care for their newborn. A certified lactation consultant works with mothers in the hospital and after they return home to teach them the skills needed to breastfeed successfully. CPR / Safety courses provide instruction for clearing a child's airway and how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as how to promote safe practices in everyday life.
Click here for a list of classes to help prepare families for the birth of a baby. Lamaze classes fill quickly; make reservations early in pregnancy. Classes are taught by ASPO / Lamaze or NCC-certified Registered Nurses from Community Hospital. There is a fee for some classes.
