Create your grocery list by entering your item and AHA will give you the list of manufactures that make the item heart healthy. How easy is that!
Matters of The Heart 
Cardiac Rehab Week - February 14th - 21st
 "Cardiac Rehabilitation...Building a Strong Heart. You Can do It. We Can Help." 
The Cardiac Rehab staff will be offering a lecture series titled "LifeFit" for all Fitness Pointe members and is also open to the public.
Classes meet on Tuesdays at 1:00pm. Call or visit the website for more details on the LifeFit classes as well as others such as HeartFit, PAD Screenings and PAD Rehabilitation.

Exercise of the Month
Rev up your workout routines with the Superman Push Up!

Reps: 10-15
Sets: Begin with 1; progress to 2-3 sets
Body Parts: Triceps, Shoulders, Chest
Equipment: Dumbbell that you can comfortably control (i.e. 5-10 pounds)
Set-Up: Start out your push-up routines by holding a dumbbell in each hand. Next position yourself on the ground in the standard full body push-up stance (challenging) or bent knee stance (less challenging).Superman Push Up 1
  • Be sure that your hands are aligned under your shoulders.
  • Your palms should face your legs.
  • Engage your core by drawing in your navel.
  1. Bend your elbows to lower your chest towards the ground, while keeping your body straight. It is Superman Push Up 2important that you do not let your hips pop up or allow your back to arch.
  2. Press up and extend your left arm forward with your palm facing down. When your arm reaches its highest point, your arm should be in line with your torso. Pause briefly and lower your hand back to the starting position to complete 1 rep. Superman Push Up 3
  3. To complete the next rep you will work the other arm. Start by repeating the push-up, this time extending your right arm forward. Continue, alternating sides with every other push-up to reap the full benefits of this exercise.
Push ups are excellent additions to nearly all workout routines!
 Change the direction you extend your arm for more variety. (i.e. out to the side, pull elbow up along side.)

 Complete 5 Cardiovascular Workouts
 between February 7th & 14th and you will be entered
into a drawing for a prize at the end of the week.
Group Exercise Classes that qualify are:
Cycling, Yoga, Belly Dancing, Boot Camp Kick, Low I & II, Step, Step & Tone, Bike & Tone, Rowing, and All Aqua Classes.
Only ONE workout per day please.
Everyone who completes the 5 workout challenge will receive a small prize.
