Community Oncology Center

Oncology Center

Community Hospital operates the most advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment center in Northwest Indiana. The Community Oncology Center, which occupies three floors of the hospital's West Pavilion, is uniquely designed around the needs of patients with cancer and their loved ones. Our patient-focused care includes an outpatient oncology unit with extended hours open 7-days-a-week, enabling patients to schedule treatments around their timetables and limiting the disruptions to their lifestyle.

The cancer program at Community Hospital, which is certified by the American College of Surgeons, uses a multidisciplinary team approach to care. Our Cancer Committee brings together physicians and support staff to review current research, evaluate treatment options and discuss cancer cases. The Committee makes treatment recommendations and evaluates the quality of patient care through follow-up studies.

The American College of Surgeon's accreditation with commendation means that Community Hospital offers:

  • Quality care close to home
  • Comprehensive cancer care and services
  • State-of-the-art technology
  • Multi-specialty, team approach to treatment
  • Access to clinical research trials
  • Education and Support
  • Cancer Registry with lifelong follow-up
