The Community Hospital, in conjunction with its medical staff, offers a number of free or low-cost health screenings, which have included: mammography, prostate cancer testing, cholesterol, HDL and blood pressure screenings, lipid screenings and testing for diabetes. Listed below are our current offerings.
Free Blood Pressure Screenings
Free Blood Pressure Screenings are held on the third Tuesday of every month from 8 - 9 a.m. Information on heart disease and diabetes is available. No registration is needed. For location, dates and times call (219) 836-3477.
Coronary Health Appraisal (Cost - $30)
Includes blood lipid profile (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides), blood sugar, blood pressure, height/weight, body composition, nutritional analysis. To schedule call 219-836-3477 or 1-866-836-3477.
Community Coronary Scan (Cost: $200)
The Community Coronary Scan uses the most advanced, high-speed CT imaging technology that takes x-ray pictures of your heart to detect heart disease in its earliest stages, before symptoms appear. This non-invasive test is fast and painless, requiring no special preparations. It is recommended for individuals with one or more risk factors for heart disease: males over 35, females over 40, high cholestorol, high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, overweight, inactive lifestyle or family history of heart disease.
