Outpatient Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is a skilled intervention that assists individuals in achieving independence.  We specialize in the evaluation and treatment of hand injuries, orthopedic injuries, stroke, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neuromuscular disorders and arthritis.

The Occupational Therapy Department, located on the ground floor in the West Pavilion at Community Hospital, is comprised of an open treatment area, private treatment rooms and a home environment area which simulates independent living.  We provide a wide range of services including neuroprosthetics, splint fabrication and adjustment, various modalities (ultrasound, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, electrical stimulation and paraffin), ergonomic analysis, self care retraining, adaptive equipment training, perceptual/cognitive retraining, joint mobilization and strength training.

Community Hospital Outpatient Occupational Therapy Services are available Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  A physician prescription is required for occupational therapy.  You will be scheduled for a private evaluation with a therapist and a treatment plan will be developed with your input.  Treatment sessions are provided on an individual basis.  If more than one service is needed appointments are coordinated by our office staff. To schedule an appointment, or for more information, call us at 219-836-4527.
