About Community Hospital

Community Hospital is a not-for-profit, non sectarian, acute care facility with 427 licensed beds and a medical staff of more than 600 physicians. The first patient was admitted to the hospital on September 11, 1973. The hospital is governed by a Board of Directors who represent the community it serves. Community Hospital in Munster is part of Community Healthcare System that includes St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.

Community Hospital offers the following services: Cardiac Rehabilitation; 24-hour Emergency Department; Intensive Care; Intermediate Care; Medical/Surgical floors; Pediatrics; Obstetrics and Neonatal Units; Neuroscience Critical Care Unit; Oncology Center; Orthopedics Unit; Outpatient Surgery; Rehabilitation Center; Therapy Services; Women's Diagnostic Center; Community Hospital Outpatient Centre in St. John; Community Hospital Fitness Pointe in Munster and Community Diagnostic Center in Munster.
