Offering Extraordinary Women's Care
We know breast imaging and mammography examinations can be an anxious experience for women. That's why we do things differently here - from the home-like surroundings that help women feel at ease to the same-day results options available on mammograms and advanced imaging. Our NAPBC accredited, comprehensive breast care program offers a full spectrum of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research, support and complementary therapy options. We also offer a High Risk Breast Clinic.
Women can take comfort in knowing the Center offers some of the most advanced diagnostic technology and services including:
- Digital mammography
- Breast ultrasound
- Non-surgical breast biopsy technology with same day results
- Breast MRI
- Dexa bone densitometry
- An outstanding staff which includes a fellowship-trained, dedicated breast radiologist and a nurse practitioner
- High Risk Breast Clinic
The Women's Diagnostic Center of the Community Hospital is available in two convenient outpatient centers - at the Community Diagnostic Center in Munster and the Community Hospital Outpatient Centre in St. John. Appointments can be scheduled for either location by calling 219-836-4599 or 800-809-9828.
Same Day Results
At the Women's Diagnostic Center, women can take comfort in knowing that after completing their breast exams, our dedicated breast radiologists and nurse practitioner are available to provide immediate results and address any concerns. This service is offered at the Women's Diagnostic Center in Munster. All mammograms performed at the Women's Diagnostic Center in St. John are read by our dedicated breast radiologist, with results made available to patients the next day.
Resource Center
The Resource Center, located at the Women's Diagnostic Center in Munster, is a place where women can turn for information on health. A wide variety of educational materials including magazines, videos, books and on-line information can be accessed. The Resource Center is a free service of The Community Hospital and is open to the public. For more information, please call (219) 934-8869.
