Community Healthcare System Offers Advanced Sinus Treatment

St. Catherine Care Network Physician Jack Patel is among a group of highly trained Ear Nose and Throat specialists who provide advanced sinus treatment to patients who suffer with chronic sinus pain.

Acute sinusitis, one of the most common reasons for visits to primary care physicians, afflicts approximately 37 million Americans annually.

If you suffer from this chronic condition and it hasn't responded to traditional medical therapy, there is a new non-invasive procedure now being offered at St. Catherine Hospital. This alternative, LUMA Balloon Sinuplasty™, opens up the blocked sinus and restores normal sinus drainage and function without the removal of bone and tissue.

This new procedure, which is performed with a small balloon that quickly opens and expands blocked sinuses, can be completed during an outpatient visit at St. Catherine Hospital.

During the outpatient visit, a small, flexible balloon is placed through the nostril into the blocked sinus passageway. The balloon is then inflated to gently restructure and open the sinus passageway, restoring normal sinus drainage and functioning.

Learn more about sinusitis today. If medication alone has not been effective in relieving sinus symptoms, balloon sinuplasty may be a treatment option. For more information, please call Dr. Jack Patel, St. Catherine Hospital Ear Nose and Throat Specialist at 219-392-7665.
