Donald Torrenga of Torrenga Engineering has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana

MUNSTER — Donald Torrenga, co-owner of Munster-based Torrenga Engineering, has been appointed to the board of directors for the Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana, Inc. (CFNI).

CFNI is a not-for-profit organization that provides leadership and resources for the enhancement of health and quality of life in Northwest Indiana. Its numerous healthcare endeavors include operation of Community Hospital in Munster; St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago; and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. It also operates the Center for the Visual and Performing Arts and Hartsfield Village in Munster. CFNI has helped to establish a cancer research foundation, the Cancer Resource Centre and developed the Community Veterans Memorial in Munster.

Torrenga Engineering is a professional engineering and land surveying company. Donald Torrenga is a professional engineer, registered in the State of Indiana. He has served as the town engineer for Griffith since 1982. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Valparaiso University. A lifelong Highland resident, he and his wife have three children.
