Senior manager appointed to new hospital system - Gorski

Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana, Inc. announces the appointment of John Gorski as Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations.

In his new position, Mr. Gorski will be responsible for the operation of three Northwest Indiana hospitals and the formation of a new multi-site medical network known as Community Healthcare. The three hospitals and their many outpatient clinics and physician offices that make up this new system are: The Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.

Mr. Gorski began his career with Community Hospital in 1982 as Director of Pharmacy Services. He was promoted two years later as Division Director of Ancillary Services, providing operation supervision for 16 clinical ancillary departments, representing administration medical staff and hospital committees and providing staff support for building projects undertaken by Community Foundation, Inc.

As a senior manager with Community Hospital, Mr. Gorski directly supervised the planning and development of more than $100 million in major service line expansions and innovative models of care for which the hospital has received national recognition. He has provided leadership for the construction of the Community Oncology Center, the Heart Center, a new medical office building, a senior living community, Fitness Pointe&Mac226;, and the new Outpatient Centre in St. John.

Mr. Gorski received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1977 and a Master of Science in Hospital Administration from Governors State University (1983). He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Registered Pharmacist.
