Senior manager appointed to new health system - Groeber
Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana, Inc. announces the appointment of Vernon L. Groeber as Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.
In his new position, Mr. Groeber will be responsible for the information technology systems of three Northwest Indiana hospitals and a new multi-site medical network known as Community Healthcare System. The three hospitals and their many outpatient clinics and physician offices that make up this new system are: The Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.
Mr. Groeber comes to Community Healthcare System from Alverno Information Services in Indianapolis. At Alverno, Mr. Groeber was the Associate Chief Information Officer for the Sisters of St Francis integrated medical delivery network of 12 hospital campuses and related organizations. Prior to working for Alverno, Mr. Groeber spent 20 years in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps leading IT organizations, for hospitals, research organizations and corporate level headquarters.
Mr. Groeber earned a Master of Science in Computer and Information Science from Purdue University in 1988. His undergraduate degree in Chemistry was completed at the University of Wyoming. He is a member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and The Retired Officers Association.
