Physician Listing Accepted Insurance Plans Our History In 1973 St. Mary Medical Center, Hobart was opened to fill a need for health service to the communities of South Lake and Porter Counties. Today the hospital continues to provide a full range of services for inpatients and outpatients. St. Mary Medical Center is a non-profit hospital operated as a part of the Community Healthcare System, which includes Community Hospital in Munster, IN and St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, IN dedicated to providing quality health services. In the spirit of Katherine Kasper's founding carism, we continue to minister to our neighbors within the community, providing compassionate care of body and spirit.
