Heart Valve Institute

A Visit to the Heart Valve Institute

Finding the Best Treatment...for You

At the Heart Valve Institute, we provide our patients with a complete evaluation of all their options.  Patients who have been diagnosed with heart valve disease may self-refer to the Heart Valve Institute. We also accept referrals from other physicians and work with them collaboratively to recommend the best treatment plan for each patient.

Heart valve disease can be treated in a variety of different ways. There have been great advances in recent years and our specialists are experienced with many of these new options, including minimally invasive procedures to repair and replace valves. Our surgeons can discuss with you best options, mortality and expected risk of complications.  Our best patients are the most knowledgeable of their options.

No one valve, no one operation and no one incision is right for every patient.  Our goal is to match the right valve, proper size and often needed procedures to each patient.  Our experience with minimally invasive surgery extends back to 1998 and includes hundreds of successful operations.  If the patient needs one valve, has good heart function and does not need other valves, coronary bypasses or an atrial fibrillation procedure, then a minimal invasive procedure will be the favored way to conduct the operation.
