CODER
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Under general supervisor and according to industry standards and hospital specific guidelines, assigns diagnostic and procedure codes using ICD-9-CM and CPT on health information records, including those which require classification system assignment. Abstracts the coded data and other required information into the computerized information system for data collections/statistical and reimbursement purpose. Processes, prepares and maintains such reports are required.

EDUCATION, SPECIAL SKILLS, PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
•Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the completion of two years of college level training in health information technology.
•Minimum of three months (but at least one year preferred) of acute care hospital work experience in order to:
oAcquire a thorough knowledge of the health record and health information arrangement procedures.
oAcquire a thorough knowledge of the coding process, coding resource material, coding rules and guidelines and applicable classification systems.
•Eligible to be credentialed as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT-Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through the American Health Information Management Association or documentation of current credential validation.


Principle Trainer
DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY/HIS PROJECT

DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Application Manager, the Principle Trainer is responsible for the application training environment and training materials. The Principle Trainer assures the training material meets the project standard and is workflow based. In collaboration with the other Principle Trainers, the Principle Trainers maintains the integrity of their training environment and assures that it meets the project standards. The Principle Trainer provides training to the user community. The Principle Trainer understands their assigned applications, their value to the business aspects of clinical operations and assist users to maximize the utility of the clinical system. As a member of the application team, the Principle Trainer will obtain application certification and assist with the system life cycle.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors Degree required in either education, Information Systems or health related field
• Training experience required to include skills in adult education.
• 2-4 years Health related clinical experience is preferred.
• Able to demonstrate a basic understanding of MS Word and Excel.
• Has an aptitude for details; demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, able mediate conflicts; self-starter; and maintains meticulous documentation.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and to meet deadlines is essential.
• Must obtain Epic application certification during introductory period.




REGISTRATION REP
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Under general supervision, completes all hospital registration, Inpatient Admissions, Pre-Admissions, Emergency Room and Outpatient diagnostic testing and treatment areas. Establishes insurance criteria and obtains patients’ pertinent socioeconomic information; enters data into the on-line Information System. Prepares admission charts and completes insurance and billing forms; assigns patient beds based on occupancy priorities and patient diagnosis; sex and age. Works closely with nursing and physicians to ensure an understanding of room availability. Refers patient to medical triage and/or treatment personnel; collects patient payment for medical services, treatments, and supplies provided by the hospital; follows all managed care guidelines.
EDUCATION, SPECIAL SKILLS, PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Completion of high school or equivalent with courses in typing, business systems and office procedures required. Familiar with personal computer, keyboard, printer and fax machine required. Basic medical terminology required. Knowledge in health insurance with managed care requirements preferred. Previous registration experience required. Minimum of 2 years experience working in a public contact environment required; previous hospital registration experience preferred; must possess the maturity to deal effectively with patients and to handle stressful situations.


RN - IMCU, ICU, ER, Med Surg-Ortho, Telemetry & Float Pool

COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Under general supervision, but according to established procedures, operates telephone communication equipment in order to: (a) answer and direct incoming and outgoing calls: (b) provide paging assistant for physicians and hospital personnel; (c) perform various related duties.
EDUCATION, SPECIAL SKILLS, PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
High school graduate or equivalent. Two years PBX experience preferred or a strong customer service background helpful. Six to twelve months of progressively more responsible experience in order to: (a) become thoroughly familiar with hospital-related communication functions; (b) become familiar with departmental policies and procedures; (c) develop suitable analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills; (d) familiar with hospital codes.


MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Performs all moderate and highly complex clinical procedures utilizing sophisticated instrumentation to obtain accurate laboratory test results for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Analyzes and documents a variety of microscopic, bacteriologic, immunohematologic and or chemical diagnostic laboratory tests; conducts advanced tests. Duties are performed under the supervision of either the Technical Specialist, General Specialist, or Laboratory Site Director.

EDUCATION, SPECIAL SKILLS, PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree (BS or BA) and graduation from an approved School of Medical Technology. Certification or eligibility for registration through examination by an Accredited Agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or NRM) is required. Employee must pass certificate examination within three (3) consecutive attempts. First attempt must be made within one (1) year of hiring.

RN - HOME HEALTH
BENEFITS NOW AVAILABLE Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana. Graduate of a National League for Nursing accredited program of Nursing. One year experience in hospital or nursing home preferred. Must have a valid Indiana driver's license and appropriate automobile insurance.

UNARMED OFFICER - TEMPORARY POSITION
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fires, thefts, vandalism and illegal entries. Initiates proper actions, makes proper reports and safeguards patients, visitors, and hospital employees and their property. Operates hospital-owned vehicle(s) to provide parking lot and perimeter surveillance. Upon special request and with proper authority, may leave the premises to make a pickup or delivery. When necessary may be assigned to the Information Desk in the main lobby or the POB either as relief or replacement for regularly assigned personnel.

To successfully function in this position, the following education/experience is required:

CV RAD TECH -
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Provides direct patient care to adolescent to geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with the physician continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory. Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiac Cath Laboratory team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
EDUCATION, SPECIAL SKILLS, PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Graduate of an American Medical Association approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Current licensure by the State of Indiana Department of Health to operate radiological imaging under the general category. At least 1 year of clinical experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab. Basic computer knowledge. Proficient in interpreting basic EKG evidence by completion of basic arrhythmia course. Displays awareness of hemodynamic pressure tracing.


RN - Cath Lab

SOCIAL WORKER
Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a Baccalaureate Degree in Social Work. Master degree in social work preferred. One to two years of experience in a health care setting. Licensed Social Worker in the Sate of Indiana.
