St. Mary Medical Center donates, blesses new hospital artwork

The Auxiliary of St. Mary Medical Center has donated two exceptional pieces of artwork to enhance the hospital’s aesthetic value and give patients and families two special places to reflect and spend quiet time.

The first piece, a Venetian Mosaic of the Risen Christ, is mounted on the lobby wall of the new patient tower, overlooking the sitting area by the Waterfall Café. The second piece, a fiberglass bronze-finished statue of the Madonna Della Strada, crowns the peaceful pond in the courtyard outside the Waterfall Café. Both pieces were blessed in a short ceremony this week.

The donated artwork is just one example of the generous giving for which the St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary is so appreciated. In the spring, the Auxiliary donated thousands for the purchase of equipment to open the hospital’s new Neuropathy Center.
