St. Mary Medical Center Receives 2008 Compass Awards for Top Patient Satisfaction Scores

HOBART — St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart received two 2008 Compass Awards for greatest patient satisfaction improvement over the past two years in Ambulatory Surgery and Outpatient Services from the Press Ganey organization. Press Ganey is an independent, quality improvement services firm which provides patient satisfaction survey research to more than 7,000 healthcare facilities nationwide. The organization announced their award winners November 19, 2008, at their national conference in Gaylord, Texas.

“At St. Mary Medical Center, we are committed to the highest standards in patient care,” said Janice Ryba, administrator at St. Mary Medical Center. “To receive two Press Ganey Compass Awards in the areas of Ambulatory Surgery and Outpatient Services in a single year reflects the dedication and extraordinary efforts of our medical, clinical and support staff to deliver the best possible outcomes to our patients.”

The hospital received the Ambulatory Surgery (including services in Same-Day surgery, Cardiac Cath Lab, Pain Center, and GI services) Compass Award, competing among 1,023 eligible facilities nationally. The Outpatient Services award includes: Cardiology, Electrophysiology Lab, Laboratory, Registration, Therapy Services, Sleep Diagnostics, Respiratory Care, Neurodiagnostics, Cardiology, Radiology, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and Outpatient Oncology.
