HOBART — St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary has made a $121,000 donation to fund new cardiovascular services technology and healthcare student scholarships. In the last decade, the Auxiliary has donated nearly $1.5 million to the growing hospital and its patient care initiatives.
This year, the contribution went toward the purchase of an Ilumien PCI Optimization System that will improve the ability of cardiologists to evaluate vessel blockage through better intravascular imaging procedures.
“Technology such as this is vital to maintaining our outstanding level of care,” said Janice Ryba, CEO of St. Mary Medical Center. “Combined with the comfort and support of volunteers, our patients know they are receiving the best health care available in Northwest Indiana.”
