St. Mary Medical Center Services
St. Mary Medical Center opened in 1973, built on land once owned by an early Hobart settler. That same pioneering spirit continues as the hospital reaches out to meet the needs of a growing suburban population in Lake and Porter counties. A $40 million patient tower was completed in 2004, setting new standards of comfort and patient care.
New ideas have helped transform St. Mary Medical Center, particularly with maternity services that include midwives, doulas and a birthing tub, and, a heart care program distinguished for its national research in the field of electrophysiology. The hospital's services include cardiovascular care, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics and The Joint Academy, birthing center, emergency, acute rehabilitation, therapy services, occupational health, burn and wound care, and off-site diagnostic and physician clinics.
