St. Mary Medical Center

St. Mary Medical Center Services

St. Mary Medical Center opened in 1973, built on land once owned by an early Hobart settler. That same pioneering spirit continues as the hospital reaches out to meet the growing needs of our Lake and Porter county communities. In 2004, a $40 million patient tower was completed which set new standards of comfort and patient care. In 2015, a new four story surgical pavilion and intensive care unit will provide the highest quality, most advanced technologies available for surgical and critical care patients.

New ideas have helped transform St. Mary Medical Center into one of the region's leading healthcare facilities with national recognition. Our outstanding birthing center and Level II nursery includes progressive approaches to care such as certified midwives, doulas and a birthing tub. Our heart care program is distinguished in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, heart valve replacement and heart failure treatment. In addition, the hospital's services include, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics and The Joint Academy, birthing center, emergency, acute rehabilitation, therapy services, occupational health, wound/continence care, and several multi-specialty outpatient centers and physician offices throughout Lake and Porter counties.
