The hospitals of Community Healthcare System offer many free and low-cost educational programs, screenings and support to help people live healthier, manage a chronic disease or recover from a serious illness.

Search here for class offerings throughout our healthcare system, which includes Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. This service, which includes assistance in Spanish, is available Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm, and accepts registration for many of our classes.

9/18/2014 - Legs for Life PAD Screening

PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease) is a progressive narrowing of the arteries feeding the legs, causing pain and circulation problems. This simple screening screens for blockage in leg arteries.

Blood pressure readings will be taken in the arms and ankles to screen for peripheral arterial disease. The readings will determine the participant’s ankle brachial index (ABI).
