The hospitals of Community Healthcare System offer many free and low-cost educational programs, screenings and support to help people live healthier, manage a chronic disease or recover from a serious illness.

Search here for class offerings throughout our healthcare system, which includes Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. If you would like in-person assistance to find a particular class or resource, call 219-836-3477or toll free 1-866-836-3477. This service, which includes assistance in Spanish, is available Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm, and accepts registration for many of our classes.

12/4/2014 - Lymphedema Class

Lymphedema is chronic swelling of a body part, most often an arm or leg, and often the unintended consequence of cancer surgery and/or radiation (secondary Lymphedema).

Our class provides education, hope and encouragement for people suffering from lymphedema. Bonnie Wolfe, OTR, CHT will discuss the tools people need to recognize early warning signs that someone might be developing lymphedema.
