Community Hospital Fitness Pointe® offers FREE Baby & Me Fitness Program

Baby & Me is a program for new parents to learn how to exercise while their infants are snug in little “carry sacks.” The free program, offered at Community Hospital Fitness Pointe® in Munster, allows parents to have fun bonding with their babies while benefiting from gentle exercise.

Baby & Me is a well-rounded low impact/step aerobics class with strength training and flexibility workouts for parents and their 6-weeks-of-age through crawling-stage babies. During the class, infants need to be secured in a “carry sack” attached to their parent or grandparent.

“Baby & Me helps parents ease into fitness, improve cardiovascular fitness by calorie burning and heart strengthening, and tone and firm muscles through exercise,” said Debi Pillarella, program manager for Community Hospital Fitness Pointe. “Parents also bond with their baby while enjoying movement and music. Plus, the program offers appropriate movement and stimulating activity for the baby.”

Baby & Me class instructors consist of degreed and/or nationally certified fitness professionals who are also parents themselves. The program focuses on the total body well-being of parents and children and provides a safe, comfortable, non-intimidating, friendly environment.
