Spiritual Care

St. Mary Medical Center believes that the healing process involves the “whole human,” physical, emotional, spiritual and mental well-being. The Pastoral Care staff extends the health ministry through guidance, scripture, shared prayer, worship services, sacraments and other forms of spiritual support.

St. Mary Medical Center is a Catholic hospital with an interfaith staff committed to serving the religious needs of all patients and their loved ones. Each hospital area is under the care of a chaplain specifically trained in pastoral care ministry. With your consent, we will be glad to notify a priest, minister, rabbi or other spiritual counselor of your hospitalization.

The Chaplains are available to offer care, support and guidance and help you find a meaningful expression of your beliefs during your stay. If you or your loved ones need pastoral care services call 219-947-6185 or ask your nurse to contact the Pastoral Care department.
