Getting Hip: Reclaiming Life with Joint Replacement Surgery

Event Details

***This program has been cancelled.

Chronic or debilitating hip pain caused by arthritis can limit mobility and make everyday activities a challenge. For individuals with age- or injury-related hip problems, partial or total hip replacement surgery may be a viable option for eliminating pain, recovering lost mobility, and regaining an optimal quality of life.

The Joint Academy of St. Mary Medical Center is marking its 10th anniversary serving the needs of joint-replacement patients in Northwest Indiana. Physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and surgical and support staff work together at the Joint Academy to treat, educate and support patients before and after surgery and throughout the recovery process. Since its inception, surgeons at St. Mary Medical Center have performed several thousand joint replacement procedures, and many hip patients are able to return home after just a few days.
