World COPD Awareness Day

In observance of World COPD Awareness Day, St. Mary Medical Center is hosting a free educational health fair and seminar for the community.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a term used to describe progressive lung diseases
such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis and asthma, affecting more than 24 million people in the United States each year.

1:30 - 2 pm: Overview of COPD

1 - 4 pm: Health Fair, including:

  • Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
  • Proper Use of Respiratory Medication
  • Smoking Cessation Support
  • Nutrition and Diet with COPD
  • Spirometry Testing
  • Alpha1-Antitrypsin Deficiency Testing
