How Your Donations Help

Previously known as Romp and Roll, Unite and Fight Cancer was started in 2004 to raise funds to support the Cancer Resource Centre, a place where area residents can access at no charge support groups, mind-body programs and educational resources to begin the emotional recovery from cancer. The 2016 United and Fight Walk and Fun Run raised over $108,000 from individuals who walked and sponsorships for area businesses. Unite and Fight Walk and Fun Run 

12 Noon – Registration
All walkers and runners must turn in their registration fee of $30 with their completed collection envelope. Don't forget to sign the waiver.
Calling All Cancer Survivors... A Survivorship Event! As soon as you've turned in your collection envelope and picked up your t-shirt, please come to the center of the football field. We're going to make a human cancer ribbon - and we need your participation!

1pm, Walk & Fun Run begins with a ceremonial lap around the track. Choose from a 1 or 2.5 mile family style walk through Munster Community Park or a 3.1 mile/5K Fun Run through the streets of Munster.

The Walk starts at MHS football field area and ends at the Big Top Tent.

The Fun Run starts at the MHS football area and ends on the MHS track. Runners will then join participants at the Big Top.

Healthy snacks available before & during event

Picnic under the Big Top immediately following Walk/Fun Run

Help us decorate our "Wall of Heroes " by bringing photos of loved ones-whether they are patients, survivors, special care givers, a doctor, nurse, or someone you love who has lost their battle. Photos will be displayed on the wall near the concession stand during the walk to honor the many that have been on this journey. Photos can be taken after the picnic.
Enjoy entertainment by The Music Boyz and Calumet Clowns; free face painting; vendors; 50/50 Raffle; Team Photos; Free blood pressure screenings/ Reiki/Reflexology & Chair Massage

Prizes awarded to:

  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Teams that raise the most funds for the CRC.
  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Individuals who raise the most funds for the CRC.
  • 1st Place male and female fun runners.

About the Walk / Fun Run:

  • Please turn donation envelope on day of event only. Please do not mail.
  • This is a family affair. Bring a ball or Frisbee and make a day of it!
  • Remember an umbrella and sunscreen – event happens rain or shine.
  • Sign up for the New Healthy Me ® employee wellness initiative while you’re there. You can’t lose!
  • Stay to enjoy the DJ – dance if you like. Have your face painted for the fun of it!
  • Take advantage of the free fruit and water to keep you hydrated and nourished.
  • Gather your team together and smile for the camera. Free team photos are available.
  • Remember to patronize our sponsors and check out the vendors free items.
  • Please refrain from using skates, skateboards, bicycles or motorized vehicles (motorized wheelchairs for the physically challenged are, of course, permitted)
  • Please leave family pets at home – for the safety and enjoyment of all our walkers & runners.
  • Please stay off the high school football field so we can continue to be welcomed back to the grounds.
  • Take a chance – purchase raffle tickets for our 50/50 raffle!

Team Information

(All Hospital Teams need to contact Corporate Communications/Marketing Department of their respective hospital)

  • Registration Fee of $30 for all participants.
  • If you want to participate as a Team, please also fill out TEAM INFORMATION area on the front of the collection envelopes.
    Designate a Team Captain: Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Teams that raise the most funds for the Cancer Resource Centre – make sure your team gets credit for all their efforts to raise funds for the CRC. **be sure all your team members have filled out their envelope correctly and completely.
    • Decide on a Team Name.
    • Be sure to get your Team Photo (west of the Concession Stand/Registration).
