Guiding You in Diabetes Management
- Every Step of the Way

Getting the best care for diabetes begins with the choices you make every day - what to eat, how to stay physically active, and how often to check your blood sugar levels.

The staff members at our diabetes centers work with patients to help them get access to the latest information, treatments and technology available to help manage their diabetes. Committed to being partners in care, they offer structured patient support through educational programs, including diabetes self-management education, nutritional counseling and gestational diabetes. Additionally, an exercise program specifically geared for people with diabetes is offered through Community Hospital

The certified diabetes educators that guide our diabetes programs partner closely with the physicians of diabetes patients so that they can tailor programs to their patients’ needs. In addition to diabetes education and management programs for outpatients, beside monitoring and support for inpatients is offered at all our hospitals. Some of our programs are offered in Spanish. Classes are offered at no cost at St. Mary Medical Center

St. Catherine Hospital was the first hospital in Northwest Indiana and among a select few hospitals in the nation to earn the highest-rated Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission for providing safe and effective inpatient diabetes care to patients.
