St. Catherine Hospital Family Birthing Center

Personalized Care for You and Your Baby

From the moment you enter our Family Birthing Center, your will be in good hands. At St. Catherine Hospital, skilled obstetricians, knowledgeable family practitioners and compassionate nurses guide women and their loved one throughout the birthing process, from labor through postpartum care. Our suites are designed to make you feel right at home, with state-of-the-art birthing beds, whirlpool tubs and private bathrooms. All the advanced medical equipment necessary to ensure safe labor and delivery are out-of-sight, but at-hand quickly when necessary.

Throughout your stay, the same nurse will take care of you and your baby to provide a smooth transition and individualized attention. Your child will stay in the room with you around the clock to enhance mother-infant bonding. Additional nursing care is always available for mothers or babies who need extra rest.

Upon discharge, you’ll have everything you need to spend time alone with your newborn. New parents have access to education and services to prepare for the transition home, including:

  • Lactation consultants available seven days per week
  • Newborn education and infant CPR training
  • Complimentary car seat for safe travels
  • Complimentary SleepSack to promote safe sleeping

Nurse-Family Partnership

New parents can access continuing education and support through our Nurse-Family Partnership. Made possible by a $2 million state grant, Goodwill Industries’ Nurse-Family Partnership at St. Catherine Hospital aims to improve health outcomes for new mothers and their babies. The program offers classes that teach motherhood skills, and weekly visits by a registered nurse until baby is two years old.
