Welcome to Powers Health. This is a new name for our integrated healthcare system, one with a deep tradition and commitment to Northwest Indiana. This exciting new change reflects both the legacy of Community Healthcare System and its hospitals and health providers, as well as the future of healthcare delivery in our area. Under the name Powers Health, our healthcare system will be unified to provide easier recognition and resources for our patients, stronger integration of automation and more seamless transition of patient care for routine health and advanced specialties. The same compassion and expertise that you have come to expect from our health professionals will be ever present in Powers Health.
Powers Health was chosen to honor Donald S. Powers, one of the original Directors and President of Community Foundation, which became Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana, Inc. in 2001, parent company of Community Healthcare System. His vision was to bring advanced medical care closer to the area, delivered by teams of compassionate healthcare professionals who are expert and caring in their knowledge and approach to patients.
Powers Health is an evolution of Community Healthcare System, not a merger or acquisition. The same leadership and approach to patient care remain the same. Powers Health continues its commitment to provide more expertise, locations and advanced technology while making healthcare easier to access through integrated operations and services. This dedication has driven Powers Health to become the area’s leader in cancer, heart, neuroscience, orthopedic and stroke care.
A Visual Identity Designed for Unity and Strength
The new Powers Health identity pays tribute to the legacy of our organization. The pentagon in the middle is a nod to the brand’s heritage and represents success and resiliency. The interconnecting ribbons surrounding the pentagon communicate the integration of all entities and employees working together seamlessly. The new logo also conveys a sense of strength – you cannot pull it apart. This aligns with the new name and the visionary character of its founder.

The name change was part of a strategic decision to foster unity across the system and provide the area with one name you can trust for your care. Leadership, doctors, nurses and staff remain the same under Powers Health.

It is an integrated system where primary care physicians offer easy access to specialty and advanced care in Northwest Indiana. From wellness centers to immediate care, it is a unified approach to empower your health journey.
No. The names of the acute care hospitals you know and trust, Community Hospital, St. Catherine Hospital and St. Mary Medical Center, will not change. They will work together to provide you the care you need under Powers Health.
The care delivery site names that will change should offer more clarity and consistency across our system. These include:
- Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center name changes to Powers Health Rehabilitation Center.
- All location-based or hospital-based health center names change to Powers Health Outpatient Center.
- Community Care Network, Inc. name changes to Powers Health Medical Group.
New signage will reflect these names and provide you with a clear list of the services offered.
Yes. We are dedicated to preserving the continuity of care and ensuring a smooth transition. The medical directors, doctors, nurses and staff you have relied on will remain unchanged, transitioning seamlessly as employees of Powers Health or Powers Health Medical Group.
No. Your medical records will remain and transition to the Powers Health name. In addition, all referrals, appointments scheduled, recurring orders and prior authorizations in progress will continue. You do not need to do anything other than continue your care with Powers Health.
Yes. Your MyChart account and the name on the app will automatically change to Powers Health. All of your medical records, test results and provider messages remain.
Powers Health will ensure all accepted insurance contracts and plans conform with our new name.
Yes. Changes in billing may take time to convert to the new naming structure. Please be patient as they transition. Feel free to call the number on your bill with any questions. The name on your bill will match the name of the facility or medical practice where you receive your care.
Our care facilities’ phone numbers and addresses will remain the same. Beginning in July, you will see the new PowersHealth.org website and email addresses transition to @PowersHealth.org.
