About Community Hospital Auxiliary
Community Hospital’s Auxiliary has grown from a small group of women who solicited donations to help build the hospital prior to its opening in 1973. Today the Auxiliary membership has grown to more than 250 men and women. The money raised from all events support designated purposes that have changed as the hospital has grown and expanded. The Auxiliary Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to children of hospital employees who meet the criteria and are preparing to enter the field of health care. To date the Community Hospital Auxiliary has provided more than $2 million in support! Funds are raised from the Red Garter Shoppe and a variety of fund raisers hosted throughout the year.

- Gift Shoppe
- Making Heart Pillows for Cardiac Patients, Whoobies for Neonatal Babies and Surgical Caps for Children
- Laboratory
- Infusion Center
- Cuddlers
- Cancer Resource Centre
- Same Day Surgery
- Fundraising

Helping others begins at any age. Our student volunteer must be at least 16 years old. We have two programs annually. Our fall Program runs through the school year beginning in September after school hours and our Summer Program begins in June. Our young people become involved with the adult volunteers, the staff and patients. Various assignments are available.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
Saturday and Sunday, 1 pm to 4 pm
The hospital gift shop, located in the Main Lobby, offers a unique selection of affordable gifts, including: flowers, clothing, jewelry, greeting cards, stuffed animals, candles, potpourri, purses, snacks and convenience items. The shop is staffed by volunteers who are a part of Community Hospital Auxiliary. All net proceeds from the Shoppe are donated to the hospital to benefit patient care services.
